this story is told in the eyes of 9 year old arab x mare called tammy.
when i was younger i was beaten and backed harshly.
then...i met my new owner, who gave me lots of love and gradually introduced
me to showjumping. my heart leapt at every fence. my owner and i were a team
and we affiliated for years. until i fell at a water jump.
i damaged my
tendon and had to have box rest.
eventually, i was able to hack out and i learnt to relax instead of always
being serious. one year later, i'm doing fun rides and a little showjumping.
i'm loving life!

WE WERE IN TENERIFE AND WE WERE GOING HORSE RIDING!(again!) When we finally
got to the farm, full of excitement. We chose our horses and got comfy! The
silly manager made us go up the mountain instead of the bridleway. When we
eventually got to the top our horses started going wappy and so we had to go
back down. Our horses were STILL being naughty and mine was being so naughty
and it threw me down the mountain. I was Luckily alright but it lost a lot
of my confidence. I am now gaining it all back once again! By Lauren Brown

This competition runs up to Easter and the idea is to email in a short horsey story of no more than 100 words.
Your story can be real about something that has happened to you or you can let your imagination run wild and completely make it up.
Also if you have a photo to go with your story then send that in too.
So it doesn't matter if your story is funny or sad, true or false.
The best short story wins a fab prize so put pen to paper and start writing.

If you have an accident on the road your insurance company will ask you if you were wearing Hi-Viz clothing.
If you were not this could invalidate your insurance.
If you or your child ride on the road it is your responsibility to make yourself visible.
You will be seen earlier in Hi-Viz clothing and more accidents happen in the middle of summer on a bright sunny day.
Statistics from the BHS show that there are at least 3000 accidents involving horses on our roads every year – 8 a day and over 100 horses are killed on our roads every year but recent reports suggest that the figure might be nearer 29.2 per day – 10,658 per year.

WILLIAM AND NAOMI BIDDELL
It is of me and WILLIAM on my first ever horse riding lesson on my 14th birthday. I now ride every week and help out at the stables and WILLIAM is the oldest but best horse in the whole wide world!!!!!!!!!!!!!
